About

Margaret Gamboa is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher and an advocate of public health. Formerly a competitive gymnast, her love of movement led her to the practice of yoga. Margaret began her yoga practice in 2001. After practicing various styles including Anusara and Vinyasa Flow, she decided to gain a solid foundation of the principles and philosophy of yoga. She completed the YogaWorks Teacher Training in 2008. The YogaWorks method is a blend of Ashtanga, Iyengar and the teachings of Desikachar. Balancing breath, movement and alignment is a strong focus in her teaching.
Margaret views yoga as a practice that allows us to become more aware of ourselves physically and mentally. This awareness encourages us to live more fully. As we become more open, we approach life from a more loving and compassionate place. Yoga has allowed Margaret to discover peace, happiness and sense of purpose on and off the mat.
Margaret received her Bachelors Degree in International Relations from the University of California, Irvine and Masters Degree in Public Health from California State University, Long Beach. Throughout her schooling, she has traveled to Sri Lanka and Thailand studying international public health. She recently had the amazing opportunity to live abroad in South America, where she volunteered for a non-profit public health organization, taught yoga and traveled throughout the region. She is furthering her studies in Yoga Therapy and continues to bring yoga to anyone who is open to the practice.
“We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise, we harden.”
